Marchio nato nel 1982 per merito di Massimo Osti e Carlo Rivetti, quest’ultimo aveva una lunga esperienza tramandata da generazioni in campo tessile e sartoriale e quando i due decisero di collaborare insieme fu subito chiaro l’intento di Massimo Osti di voler dare alla linea un taglio decisamente più militare. Uno dei primi tessuti con cui questo brand si è interfacciato è stato molto insolito, si trattava infatti di un copertone, di quelli utilizzati solitamente per i camion, sottoposto poi ad una particolare tecnica di lavaggio detta “stone washed”. Quel tessuto è stato emblema delle collezioni Stone Island, che ha visto uniti un design all’avanguardia e lo sguardo fisso ai tradizionali indumenti da lavoro o alle uniformi militari.
